Card rarities and pack odds: how to open smarter
Common to Ultimate explained, the exact odds of every pack, duplicate refunds and the best way to spend your coins.
There are over 400 player cards to collect in HeyFootball, from everyday squad players to football legends. Knowing how rarities and packs work is the difference between a collection that grows fast and coins that disappear. Here's everything, with the real numbers.
The seven rarities
Every card has one of seven rarities. Rarer cards are generally higher-rated players, and they glow a little more in Cards.

Every pack and its odds
Each pack gives you three players. The odds below are the chance for each of those three cards. Basic, Rare, Epic and Legendary packs can give any card in the game, even Icons, Rising Stars and club players; they only differ in the odds. The Icons, Rising Stars and United packs only give their own players.

Which pack should you buy?
Starting out: Basic packs
When your collection is small, almost every card is new. Cheap Basic packs fill your collection quickly, and new cards count toward achievements like "Collect 50 players".
Building a team: Rare and Epic packs
Once you need better players for your dream team, Rare packs guarantee Rare or better on every card. Epic packs are the sweet spot for Epic players, with a small chance of an Ultimate.
Chasing the best: Legendary and Icons packs
Save these for when your collection is already big. They're expensive, but every card is Epic or better.
Open several packs at once
Choose ×1, ×3, ×5 or ×10 above the Open button. Any free packs you have are used first, then coins. All the cards are revealed together, which saves time when you're working through a pile of free packs.
What to do with doubles
Every duplicate gives coins back straight away (see the table above). Doubles are also perfect for trading with friends: open a friend's profile and tap 🔄 Trade doubles to swap them for cards you're missing.
